Bing.com - The Future of Search Engines

by admin on Sep.04, 2009, under Bing.com, Google.com, search engines

Is Bing.com the future of search engines? Bing.com is fast becoming a very popular search engine. It is Microsoft’s new attempt at competing with Google. Interestingly, all the sites I have worked on recently have reached the top of Bing.com faster than in Google. So while I have gotten pages to the top of Google in just a few months, I have been able to get pages to the top of Bing in just a  few weeks. That is because Google focuses on on-page as well as external factors, whereas Bing.com clearly emphasizes more on on-page factors. For example, if a website’s on-page keyword structure is good but is competing with another website that is also decent, then the one with the most inbound links, for instance, may be the one that has a higher position in Google. However, on Bing, it seems the website with the best on-page keyword structure will win all the time. That means everything from the website URL, to meta data, header tags, to content. I think in the end SEO’s will find Bing.com easier to work with in some ways. It is still unclear which approach to search engines is better; and that will become clearer as more and more users begin to use Bing.
